Kaiho is the brainchild of vocalist/enthusiastic ukelele player Saskia Longaretti and vocalist/bassist Freya Mitchison, friends from school who have been writing songs together for many a long year. As well as a fair few line-up changes they’ve had some memorable performances, such as playing their first ever song on-stage with Devendra Banhart at Reading Festival in 2007 whilst wearing wedding dresses, and winning a competition to play at Bestival last year, somehow also wearing wedding dresses…. Having moved up to Edinburgh as impoverished art students they managed to coerce Millie Popp, Harriet Braine and Chris Bewsey into lending their dulcet tones, guitar and drumming skills to the mix to play some live gigs which were really rather good. The band now gigs at venues all over Edinburgh whilst refining their plans for world domination.
